Vegan Thanksgiving Side Dishes & Desserts

Hi all!

How is it almost thanksgiving already?? I feel like time flies more as I get older, especially this year being in dental school. My schedule is so hectic and busy that I have not been able to go home at all yet this year, so I am super excited to get to go home for thanksgiving break. I generally do a lot of the cooking on thanksgiving, and since this is my first thanksgiving as a Vegan, I am going to be trying out some new recipes. Luckily, some of my fellow BGB bloggers have shared some of their best vegan, GF recipes for thanksgiving with me! Now I get to share them with you! I am also going to include a couple of my own recipes that are great for thanksgiving!

Side dishes:

First up: Roasted Winter Vegetables with Cannellini Beans from Healthy Liv ! Veggies that make this dish hearty & filling include sweet potatoes, parsnip, rutabaga, and brussel sprouts. I know I will be adding this to my thanksgiving meal cooking list and I hope you do too!

Fall Kale Salad with Roasted Squash, Cherries, and Walnuts from Made to Glow . This dish is screaming thanksgiving- squash, kale, and cherries?? Sign me up.

Brussel sprouts are always made at my house on thanksgiving. What better way to eat them than with a balsamic almond dressing?? This Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Balsamic Almond Dressing recipe from Fit Mitten Kitchen has got me drooling!

Thanksgiving is all about comforting foods- and this recipe for Warm Sorghum Salad from Strength and Sunshine is just that!

Apples are the perfect fruit to incorporate into your thanksgiving feast. Check out this recipe for Crockpot Paleo Apple Butter from Wife is a Journey ! This would be perfect for a light thanksgiving day breakfast or topped on sweet potatoes!

Desserts:

Finish off your thanksgiving meal with something a little lighter than pecan pie- try Rachel Mansfield’s recipe for Oatmeal Stuffed Baked Apples !!

Rounding out the thanksgiving recipes is Chai Spiced Oatmeal Cookies from Healthy Helper! Loaded with fall spices, these make the perfect thanksgiving dessert.

Which of these recipes are you dying to try??? What is on the menu for your thanksgiving feast??? Let me know in the comments!
