The BEST Vegan Protein Powders & My fav smoothie combos

Have you ever tried Vegan protein power? Want to try it but don’t know which brand/flavor/formula is the best? I’m here to break that down for you as I have tried a lot of vegan protein powders. I’m also going to share my favorite easy, 5 ingredient or less protein smoothies !

Favorite Chocolate Protein Powder:

Vega Sport performance protein: My love for this brand is unreal. I love so many of their protein powders, but this one definitely takes the cake. The chocolate protein powder is not grainy at all and mixes so well – especially in blended smoothies! Vega just came out with a new formulation of this protein that has 30 grams of protein! In my opinion, this protein is the best plant based source of recovery protein. If you do a lot of training and need to repair your muscles quickly, then I highly recommend trying this out.

Chocolate Banana Protein Smoothie

2 frozen bananas

1 scoop Chocolate Vega sport

1 cup ice

1.5-2 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk

Nutrition info: 405 cals, 34 g protein, 62 g carbs, 7 g fat, 84% daily calcium, 20% daily Vit A, 34% daily Vit C, and 30% daily recommended iron

I love making this smoothie and it is a breakfast & post-workout staple in my diet!

Cold smoothies are so much better when enjoyed outside in the sunshine! Who agrees???

Favorite Fruity Protein

Vega Tropical Tango Protein Smoothie

I love this flavor of the protein smoothie line from Vega. This protein has less protein than the Sport variety at 15 grams, but also packs in 2 servings of veggies for only 90 calories! Of course, vega is always gluten, dairy, and soy free, making this protein perfect for people who eat a plant based diet or have allergies/food sensitivities. This protein is great for mixing into blended smoothies, but you can also mix it with water or a plant based milk if you prefer it that way.

Tropical Island Protein Smoothie

Ingredients

1 scoop tropical tango

3 cups tropical frozen fruit – mind had strawberries (hence the red color), pineapple, mango, and papaya

1.5-2 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk (depending on desired thickness)

Nutrition info: 375 cals, 21 g protein, 69 g carbs, 4 g fat, 15 g fiber, 31% daily Vitamin A, 560% daily recommended Vitamin C, 63% daily calcium, and 40% daily iron

Favorite Fun Flavor Protein Powder

Garden of Life is one of my other favorite brands of plant-based protein. I have tried a couple of their flavors, and the smooth coffee is most definitely my favorite! The texture is great making it awesome in smoothies and in oatmeal. This is one of my favorite proteins to use in overnight oats, and smoothies for breakfast. I like that the flavor of protein isn’t your typical vanilla or chocolate yet it still tastes natural and free of artificial flavors.

Banana-Chai-Coffee Smoothie

Ingredients:

2 frozen bananas

1 cup ice

1 scoop coffee Garden of Life

1/2 cup No sugar added Chai

1-1.5 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk

Nutrition info: 385 cals, 19 g protein, 73 g carbs, 5 g fat, 12 g fiber, 35% of vitamin C, 36% Calcium, 35% daily iron, and 16% daily Vitamin A

Favorite Everyday Use Protein:

Vega Berry Protein & Greens

Can you tell that I like Vega protein?? And no, I am not being sponsored by them to say any of this, I just like to share products that I LOVE with my readers. I know that plant based protein can sometimes turn people off because of the texture/taste, so I wanted to let me readers in on my favorite ones! This protein is great for people who love berries in their smoothies. This protein is awesome because it also has 2 servings of greens and its super low fat (less than .5 grams) and has no added sugar.

Berry-Licious smoothie

1 scoop Vega berry protein & greens

3 cups frozen berries (mine had raspberries, strawberries and blueberries)

1.5 – 2 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk

Nutrition info: 365 cals, 4 g fat, 25 g protein, 59 g carbs, 12 g fiber, 21% daily Vitamin A, 60% daily Vitamin C, 83% daily Calcium, 45% daily iron.
