Chocolate PB Banana Protein Bites (Vegan & GF)

When I am bored at home I usually try whipping up some new recipe/concoction. Sometimes they turn out super delicious, other times-not so much. This protein ball recipe was a winner which is why I am sharing it with you!

Is there any better combination than chocolate + peanut butter + banana??? I think not. Sweet from the bananas, chocolate from the protein powder, and saltiness from the peanut butter makes it a winning combo 🙂

I have recently made the switch from whey protein to vegan protein powder. I have found that dairy was making my face break out SO badly. It was like I was 14 all over again. I decided to go some research and cut dairy out of my diet & my face has slowly been clearing up! Vegan protein powder has a bit of a different texture than whey protein, but I really love it! I like that vegan powders are made from plant protein. There are so many brands that make vegan powder these days & there are so many fun flavors! Right now I have vanilla, chocolate, berry, and coffee flavors (gotta have options, am I right??)

I have 2 very ripe bananas sitting on my counter that I wanted to use, so I decided to go with the chocolate powder! This recipe only has 4 ingredients making it easy & healthy! Plus, these require absolutely NO BAKING! I like no-bake recipes because that means that there are less dishes to clean after I am done cooking/baking. These protein balls are perfect for a pre-workout snack, dessert, or for a quick bite of energy. They are dense due to the oats, peanut butter, and protein powder, but are still much lower in calorie than many store-bought alternatives. Plus, they have way less ingredients than many store bought protein bars/energy bars, etc.

This is the peanut butter I used 🙂

Ingredients:

4 scoops Chocolate Vegamax Vegan Protein Powder (or other protein powder of choice)
2 large, ripe bananas
4.00 tbsp Natural Peanut Butter (peanuts & salt only 🙂
1.50 cup uncooked, Gluten Free Oats

Directions:

First, mash the ripe bananas in a bowl. Make sure to mash them up really well! Then add the oats, peanut butter, and protein powder and mix everything together. Roll the dough/mixture into 1-inch balls and enjoy! I stored mine in the freezer so I can enjoy them   as I please. This recipe made 35 balls for me so depending on the size balls you make, expect 32-37 balls.
